Describe the capabilities of and use cases for social features.
Salesforce can link Accounts, Contacts and Leads to social networks. Depending on whether the Salesforce Classic or Lightning Experience user interface is used, different linking methods and social networks are available.
|Social Network||Salesforce Classic||Lightning Expirience|
In Salesforce classic, social networks are linked to Accounts, Contacts, and Leads from the detail pages of records. In Lightning Experience, social networks are linked from the News tab of records.
If an Account, Contact or Lead was connected to a social network, the information displayed to users, depends on how the individual user is connected to the linked person or company, as well as the person or company’s privacy settings on the social network:
Salesforce administrators can enable and disable the Social Accounts, Contacts, and Leads feature for the entire org, and define which social networks should be globally available to all users. Individual users can hide unused social networks for themselves in their user settings.
