The navigation menu of template-based communities can be configured in Community Builder. Menu items of different types can be added, including dynamic navigational topics.
The navigation menu of template-based communities contains a list of ordered menu items. Those items appear in the Navigation Menu component of the template.
The structure of the navigation menu can be configured. Menu items can be renamed, ordered, added, and removed. Each item can link to one of the following types of content:
In addition, each menu item can be specified as publicly available or not. This determines if the item is visible to guest users if the community is made publicly accessible.
Navigational topics can be used to organize community content in a hierarchical structure. They can be added to the navigation menu, to allow community users to find relevant articles more conveniently.
Articles can be assigned to navigational topics through data categories. Multiple data categories can be assigned to the same navigational topics.
Navigational Topics can be defined under Content Management > Topics > Navigational Topics in Community Workspaces. Up to three hierarchy levels can be configured. The first level can have up to 25 topics and the second and third levels up to 10 topics each.
