Determine the steps to create and configure Lightning pages.
Communities consist of template and custom pages. Community templates provide a set of default pages which can be customized. In addition, custom pages can be created and configured.
Template pages are default pages provided by the template selected for a community. They can be categorized into the following types:
Login Pages include default pages for community user management, such as registration, login, login error, forgot password, and check password.
Template Pages are default pages to provide functionalities of the template selected for a community. The pages included therefore vary depending on community template.
Object and Generic Record Pages define how Salesforce records are presented in a community. They consist of detail, list, and related list pages. Object Pages are linked to a specific object and define the look and feel for this object. Generic Record pages are applied to objects for which no Object Pages exist.
The properties and content of template pages can be configured in Community Builder. Page components can be added, removed, and customized depending on the type of component.
Custom can be created to extend the functionality of Salesforce communities. There are two types of custom pages:
Custom Standard Pages are based on a content layout and intended to provide certain functionality to community users. Any combination of components can be added to this type of custom pages.
Custom Object Pages are connected to a Salesforce object and define the detail, list, and related list pages of records from this object to the community. Creating a custom object page therefore results in three separate community pages: a detail page, a list page, and a related list page.
The Pages panel in Community Builder can be used to edit the properties of template and object pages.
Following properties can be configured for pages of both types:
For custom pages, the following properties can be customized in addition:
The content layout assigned to a standard or custom page defines the available rows and columns on the page. Content layouts provide a responsive grid for community pages.
